MY JOURNEY
With a diverse background spanning education, business, and technology across both the education and private sectors, I offer a unique perspective that enriches organizational value. My professional journey began in 2000 as an Office Assistant IV while completing my senior year of Bachelor of Business Administration studies. In this role, I managed a large office environment, overseeing a team of over 200 employees and multiple levels of supervision.
Driven by a passion for education, I pursued a Master of Arts in Teaching degree and embarked on a career as a high school educator, teaching Math and Business classes at multiple schools. Exploring my creative interests, I later transitioned to a role as a graphic specialist for four years before returning to full-time teaching at a community college.
As my career evolved, I embraced leadership and instructional design as an Instructional Coordinator, where I developed courses, supervised adjuncts, and facilitated professional development initiatives for faculty. This role also provided opportunities to coach fellow educators and enhance their instructional skills.
Motivated by personal loss, I founded a nonprofit organization in memory of my niece and sister, underscoring my commitment to community and support. Wanting to develop my business acumen further, I obtained my MBA. I further expanded my leadership expertise as Department Chair of Educational Technology at a community college, leveraging my multifaceted background to foster innovation and growth in educational practices.
Today, I am dedicated to empowering educators and students alike, combining my teaching experience with a focus on personal and professional development. In my spare time, I enjoy crafting, being creative, and pursuing continuous learning opportunities.
